On February 27th 2015, Orange Productions delivered the ICC Cricket World Cup Gala Dinner — an evening of nostalgia and excitement for the future for close rivals, friends and neighbours New Zealand and Australia. Brought together were the legendary cricketing foes from yesterday and today and the leaders of our two countries, Prime Ministers John Key and Tony Abbott.
Orange Productions developed the concept of “Fierce Friends” based on New Zealand and Australia’s shared values, history and relationship. The result was an immersive event experience that combined an inspired spatial design, live performance and cutting edge multimedia audio visuals.
Entertainment and MCs were duos: fantastic former Australian spin bowler Max Walker teamed up with the hilarious Dai Henwood to bring to life an evening that involved performances from Stan Walker and Aussie legends and cameos from broadcast and cricket legends. Bringing power & emotion to the evening was the attendance of former NZ Captain Martin Crowe.
Orange Productions was the event delivery partner for CWC2015 in New Zealand and worked with associated partners NZ Cricket, Cricket Australia, Hyundai and ATEED. Projects we worked on included the CWC2015 2014 Trophy Tour; CWC2015 Fan Experiences; CWC2015 Gala Dinner; CWC2015 In stadia Hospitality Spaces; ATEED 100 Days to Go Cricket On The Harbour Bridge; and the Black Caps Welcome Home.
